hard to say how i find a place i travel to... my perception has differed while travelling along and while travelling in groups.
one factor that stands out is safety: when with a companion, i've usually overlooked safety. however in those instances pick-pocketing or minor incidents may have happened.
while alone, i did visit several places that were 'unsafe', but unfortunate things didn't happen.
so hard to decide if i liked a place... being an architect however helps me absorb the essence of a place without the 'company bias' creeping in :)
