Food over Philosophy #11

It is past 3 am and i am wondering about things like:

- what happens when it rains over a volcano?
- has it ever snowed in Delhi?
- where do flowers like magnolias, aralia and camellia grow?

now lets say i haven't been so introspective or inquisitive in a while.

It might be the good food working. Good "Ladakhi" food i had in Gurgaon today - authentic to the core :) Would love to visit again

In-different Observation #75

Watching some of my family members (aka the one i'm married to) sleep, came up with the "Law of inverse happiness through sleep":

The mount of happiness derived from sleeping is inversely proportional to the amount of time left until the alarm goes off.

For instance, if the alarm were to go off by 7 am, the happiness from sleeping between 6:55 am to 7:00 am is way more than the happiness which comes from having slept from 6:00 am to 6:45 am. Or from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am... those last 5 minutes multiply the happiness!

Do you agree? What's your experience like? :) Is it a result of some well-known psychological phenomenon?

If i had to name the most religious person in Bollywood, who would it be?

Karan Johar.

Why?

Because he owns "Dharma" Productions :)

In-different Observation #73

A remarkable quality of my father: putting enthusiasm in the mundane tasks!

when i do stuff for people who make interesting things look mundane, all energy gets sucked out.

In-different Observation #72

So the President of Estonia ran the NYC Marathon. Inspiring stuff !!

When i saw the Twitter update, the geek in me noticed first that numbers don't get hash-tagged on the microblog :)

Way to go President Kaljulaid! Another awesom lady President after the one from New Zealand

In-different Observation #71

Supply and demand.

I learnt North Indian classical singing as a kid. Never felt the compelling need to perform and please an audience because it was more of a personal practice for me.

When i went to the first college where i studied, there was a bigger supply of classical singers compared to the demand. It had taken me 7+ yrs to learn all the music through a Guru. I did perform several times.

I had an inherent interest in percussion. So when i went to the second college, we had a girls band which didn't have a drum player. It took me just 7 days to pick up tough beats and perform on stage and we even won prizes.

In-different Observation # 70

Trust is one of the most underrated yet important factors behind everything...

For example, when i place an online order and pay by card, knowing well that the delivery would happen only 14 days later, i TRUST the service provider or merchant to deliver :)

that said, i'm going back to my FAASOS order that i just paid for :D
