navi mumbai, naya patna

"the farmers were never against the city. all they wanted was a share of the profits, and suddenly the government was being bloody-minded" - Charles Correa.

a lot is still said about the success and failures of this city. time is deciding if all the effort was worth it.

using this model of development... am thinking of something similar for Patna, which happens to be the only full fledged city in the state of bihar. with a population of almost 20 laks, the city is more than burgeoning. and immigration will never end unless all other cities in bihar get what patna is able to provide, or unless satellite towns come up in the vicinity.

a lot more is still left undone... wud CC like to do something for a state which needs input from minds like his??

all i can say is, i've barely written a blog ever!! that's not wid reference to the frequency of writing, but the fact that its not writing at all.

i've only succeeded in "typing" some blog entries. just feeding in without much connect.

new year 2010

a happy new year!
this is the first post in the new year. Time for work and to conemplate over Thesis. Its going to be a lot of hard work and toil in the near future!
meanwhile, its good to wonder about where i shall undergo my summer training! i think health care design is the best suited option for a person like me - grounded and orderly in approach. Orthopedic hospital would be a good idea and i am sticking to it, since it has never been done before and has scope for understanding how to solve a lot of old-age problems.

as per my health, the exertion from Chennai NASA has taken a heavy toil on it. NASA ws fun. good food, sub-standard acco and well-planned events. now, its good that i made i to the final 6 of the quiz and even participated in 2 design events... was fun making an 'innovative' roof. 1st of jan was mostly spent in travelling and socializing.. had great food at mausi's... den even went to 2 faous temples in the outskirts... surya mandir is lovely. i was astonished to see the 'modern' architecture there.... who's the architect??
all of us have heard of embodied energy in materials, which turns to heat only wen ignited. otherwise, a stock-pile of stored coal is as cold as a stone! perhaps, i'm inclined to be more of a stock piile of coal coz i'm not exercising these dayzz at all !! so all the food that i'm eating is only adding to the cold solid mass! none of it is burning to produce joules and kilocalories of heat... i really need to put on my socks n shoes for the fitness sessions! and venture into 1.5 degrees to 6 degrees cold and put off some weight. its high time.
