i felt the pinch...

the last week witnessed political turmoil... in jharkhand, and i felt the pinch. 5 days of 'bandh' unleashes all d voilence, inconvenience and crime that is, well, not always 'bandh' in the tumultuous region where i stay. for 5 full days, trade had almost come to a grinding halt wid blocked arterial transport lines... esp the roads, as it was highly unsafe to let the loaded trucks out of the city. on wednesday, oct 14th, wen the bandh was officially over, the trade routes found a new lease of life. all the trucks were to move unstoppably... alas, our roads, esp the main 'highways' are not very well equipped to handle this sudden rush in traffic! consequently, commuters on the road were stuck in traffic jams, myself being one of dem. it was a first hand experience of how political (mis)ambitions affect lives directly. the 3:15 institute bus reached the gate at 5:30. the girls bus started 30 min late (not very uncommon) but could filter through the jam and get to the 'no entry' point only by 6:45 pm!!

all i can say is, its really surprising that organizations which indulge in organizd crime, killings, massacres, and unabashed violence, are given the liberty to hold 'bandhs', when insetad, they should be 'banned'!
